We invite you to attend the 2024 CeZAP Infectious Disease Research Symposium! 
We welcome abstract submissions from students, post-docs, and faculty on all of our thematic research areas listed below.

Slots are available for both oral and poster presentations.

Submission deadline is August 25th
*If you are attending both CeZAP and ASM, abstracts submitted for oral presentations may be selected by the organizing committee to present Friday (joint CeZAP & ASM) or Saturday (ASM). You only need to submit one abstract, but you must register for both. There will be just one joint poster session on Friday.

Registration is FREE but you must sign up by Sept 27th. You must also register if you submit an abstract. If you are attending the annual meeting of the Virginia Branch of American Society for Microbiology you must register for both.

Frequently Asked Questions

You get the benefit of attending 2 great symposiums.

  • CeZAP is held Friday, October 11th 
  • ASM is held both Friday, October 11 and Saturday October 12th. 
  • There will be a joint afternoon session and poster session on Friday. ASM attendees are also invited to attend the morning CeZAP session

If you are attending both you will need to register for both. If you are are only attending one (either CeZAP or ASM) register for that one only. You will still get the benefits of the joint sessions.

*If you are attending both CeZAP and ASM, abstracts submitted for oral presentations may be selected to present Friday (joint CeZAP & ASM) or Saturday (ASM). You only need to submit one abstract, but you must register for both.  There will be just one joint poster session on Friday. 

You only need to submit one abstract if you are attending both CeZAP and ASM.

  • If you are only attending CeZAP your oral presentation will be considered by the selection committee for Friday only. 
  • If you are are only attending ASM your oral presentation will be considered by the selection committee for either Friday afternoon or Saturday morning
  • If you are attending both CeZAP and ASM your oral presentation will be considered by the selection committee for either Friday or Saturday morning

There will only be one joint poster session. You only need to submit an abstract once to be considered by the selection committee for the poster session.
